What
is the Langley Park
Residents Association?
The
committee works with Peverel on a voluntary
basis to ensure that the Langley Development
is maintained and secure for all of us.
The Association is funded from a voluntary
contribution from each property of £20.00
per year. If you are not contributing and

Rules
of the Association
1.
NAME
The
Association shall be called “The Langley
Park Residents’ Association”.
2.
OBJECTS
To
promote and protect the interests of the
residents of Langley Park. The Association
is non-political.
3.
MEMBERSHIP
3.1
All adult residents of
Langley Park living at a postal address
in the area are eligible for membership.
3.2
Non-residential properties
with postal addresses as above are eligible
for membership at the discretion of the
Committee. Such membership will not
confer any voting rights.
4.
MEMBERSHIP SUBSCRIPTION
4.1
A membership subscription
will be decided by the Committee in each
calendar year and will fall due for payment
in February.
4.2
The subscription will
be payable per postal address (“Subscribing
Household”) and not per person.
5.
MANAGEMENT
The
affairs of the Association shall be managed
by a Committee which shall be constituted
as set out below.
6.
OFFICERS
6.1
The Officers of the Association
shall be a Chairman, Secretary and Treasurer.
The Officers for each year shall be elected
at the Annual General Meeting.
6.2
No person shall be eligible
to serve as Chairman for more than three
consecutive years. A former chairman
excluded under this rule shall be eligible
for re-election as chairman after one year
or more out of office.
7.
COMMITTEE
7.1
The Committee shall consist
of:
(i)
the Chairman, Secretary
and Treasurer for the current year; and
(ii)
at least four other members
to be elected at the Annual General Meeting.
7.2
Nominations must be proposed
and seconded by members. The proposer
shall obtain the consent of any nominee
for office or for membership of the Committee.
Nominations shall be submitted to the Secretary,
in writing, not later than fourteen days
before the date of the Annual General Meeting.
7.3
The Committee may co-opt
a member of the Association to fill any
vacancy amongst the Officers and Committee
members that may arise during the year.
7.4
Four members of the Committee,
of whom one shall be an Officer, shall form
a quorum.
7.5
The Committee may appoint
sub-committees for specific purposes.
7.6
Councillors representing
the local ward of Bromley who are not Officers
or elected members of the Committee may
be invited to attend meetings of the Committee
or its sub-committees but shall not have
power to vote.
7.7
The Committee will meet
at least four times per calendar year.
8.
ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING
8.1
An Annual General Meeting
of the Association will be held not less
than once per calendar year.
8.2
The Annual General Meeting
shall be convened by the Committee by giving
at least fourteen days’ notice in writing
to the members.
9.
SPECIAL MEETINGS
9.1
A Special General
Meeting may be called by the members at
any time by application in writing to the
Secretary, signed by not fewer than twenty
members of the Association. The application
must set out the matters to be discussed
at such a meeting.
9.2
A Special General
Meeting will be convened by the Committee
by giving at least seven days’ notice, such
notice to be put on display at the Langley
Park Gatehouse.
10.
VOTING AT MEETINGS
10.1
Each subscribing household present
at a meeting convened by the Committee shall
be eligible to cast one vote, whether called
by show of hands or otherwise, whenever
matters are put to the membership for determination.
10.2
All matters put to the vote
shall be determined by a simple majority.
10.3
Where necessary, the Chairman
shall be eligible to register a casting
vote.
11.
ACCOUNTS
11.1
The accounts of the Association
shall be made up to 31 January in each year.
11.2
The accounts will be made available
to the members of the Association on request
and will be on display at the Annual General
Meeting of the Association.
