15th July 2007, we enjoyed an absolutely
fabulous and well-attended Langley
Park “Picnic On The Green” organised by
the Langley Park Residents Association (LPRA).
“Thank you” to Colin Hughes and Catherine
Walters of the Community Development Subcommittee
who worked so hard to make this such a success.
In
spite of an early brief thunderous downpour,
the weather turned out just fine and all
of the scheduled events went on as planned.
In addition, thanks to Christine and Steve
Harris who supplied the wickets, bats and
balls, a lively game of cricket was enjoyed
by young and old alike. The children were
thrilled by the magician.
And we all enjoyed the melodic sounds of
steel drums by the Yellow Bird Steel Band.
It was simply a wonderful neighbourhood
picnic and a great opportunity to meet neighbours
and make new friends. Thank you to all who
brought a bottle of wine for the raffle.
It was a great success - made even more
fun by the young volunteers who drew the
winning tickets for us.
